A tribute to the Naval Academy of Livorno, founded on 6 November 1881 from the merger of the schools of the pre-unification navies of Genoa and Naples, with the aim of creating a single school for the training of officers of the Royal Navy.


In its over 140 years of life  the Naval Academy of Livorno has trained tens of thousands of Navy officers, educating them in duty and the cult of their homeland and honor. A work witnessed by the 1,400 Navy officers who consecrated, with the sacrifice of their lives, the ideals to which they were educated at the Naval Academy.


  • Details made by hand by turning and mirror polished of Italian resins in ultramarine blue and white as in the uniform of the cadets of the Naval Academy of Livorno; 
  • Reference to the white of the uniform corresponding to the clasp; 
  • Ordinary sword of the Naval Academy of Livorno modeled in miniature and chiseled by hand, to act as clip clasp, with mother-of-pearl handle rendered in pearly-white enamel;
  • Golden bas-relief bearing the motto of the Naval Academy of Livorno, "Homeland and honor", surrounding the body of the pen;
  • Cusp depicted in bas-relief with the emblems of the Naval Academy of Livorno; 
  • All the metal details lost wax cast in bronze - according to ancient Etruscan canons - and bathed in 24 carat gold; 
  • Chisel finishing in Florentine goldsmith style of clasp, cusp and band;
  • Ink loading via high-smooth ball replacement;
  • Pen kept in gift box, complete with converter and ink cartridge;
  • Case recalling the dark blue of the ordinance in the uniforms of the Naval Academy of Livorno, and inside a metal plate engraved with the Academy's motto, "Homeland and honor";
  • Two-year warranty for any manufacturing defect.
